State Prize for Literature to Tarja Roinila
Tarja Roinila is the recipient of the 2010 State Prize for Literature awarded to translators.
She was recognized especially for her translations of works by the Austrian author Thomas
Bernhard.
In her interview Tarja Roinila says that a literary translation “isn’t something additional to
the original book, but something inherent in literature itself.
